The job of the Operation Manager, Events is to oversee the Events team within the Operations Department. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain data across a variety of functions and adhere to strict turnaround times. The ideal candidate will also be able to ensure all Event team members have the proper resources, tools, and skills necessary to proficiently perform their day to day functions.

A successful day in this position is ensuring the team completes all daily work and inbound requests in line with KPIs, making measurable progress on special projects and daily tactical assignments, and spends time mentoring and developing team members.

Requirements

What You’ll Do:

  • Cultivate a database of live event information. This includes:
    • Setting up events in our proprietary database
    • Managing and executing on a maintenance schedule for existing inventory
    • Managing and responding to internal requests from Product, Sales, and Client Services
    • Accurately reporting on level of effort for in-bound requests
    • Accruing rate cards, floorplans, booth sizes, sponsorship types, agendas, and media kits for our database
    • Partnering with Dev to submit requirements and conduct user acceptance testing on internal tool improvements
    • Managing quality for the events database
    • Ensure turnaround times are met and data is properly set up in the database
    • Writing and editing documentation as requested
    • Evaluate process updates and clarify methodology
  • Assisting in the execution of strategic work as needed and as requested for special projects
  • Lead the Event Associate. This includes:
    • Managing the team’s day-to-day tasks and special projects
    • Validating that work product is consistently completed on time, in scope, and meets expectations
    • Conducting focused data analysis and root cause analysis on assigned projects and processes as requested and in consultation with your direct supervisor
    • Overseeing the team’s key performance indicators (KPIs) and goals
    • Providing regular updates/communication via group and 1:1 meetings
    • Providing professional development and coaching to the team
    • Assisting with HR planning and management as requested
  • Serve as subject matter expert and leader for the team.
  • Identify and escalate continuous improvement projects as requested to improve the department’s efficiency and accuracy
  • Actively maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the organization

Who You Are:

  • You have experience with or ability to manage a team of at 1-2 people or a business function
  • You have relevant experience in Data Collection, Data Management, etc.
  • You proactively ask questions for clarity, communicate errors, and implement process improvements
  • You actively utilize and provide feedback on the tools provided
  • You have the ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, change centric environment
  • You are organized with a strong attention to detail
  • You have a strong sense of time management, able to manage discrete projects and daily tasks
  • You have a working knowledge of the Microsoft and Google Suite of programs
  • You work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Nice to Haves (but not required!):

  • Experience with project management and change management
  • Experience with B2B Trade Show and Conferences
