We are seeking an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Manager who will oversee an AP and AR staff of up to 4 people for day-to-day transactional duties, as well as, individually contribute to AP and AR transactional duties. This position will interface with sales, service, and customer service, as well. It is expected that there will be a high degree of team participation. In this position, you will meet established goals, lead team to maintain accounts in current position, meet established deadlines, and support organizational goals and objectives. Other specific KPI measures may be developed for the role depending upon organizational needs.

What You’ll Do:

Accounts Receivable:

  • Drive collections through execution of standard work via phone and email while maintaining good communication with internal stakeholders to overcome obstacles
  • Research and resolve customer deductions, disputes, and issues
  • Identify and collaborate on solutions for billing and AR deficiencies
  • Identify any uncollectible amounts and be proactive with potential bad debt exposure
  • Create, maintain, and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to identify trends / root causes and make cash collection forecast recommendations
  • Work with Accounting Manager to ensure cash management requirements are met per Corporate guidelines, Collections Forecast, or other internal directives

Account Payable:

  • Provide direction to AP Analyst for accurate and timely recording of invoices
  • Manage payment schedule to keep accounts current
  • Act as backup for the AP Analyst role during time off
  • Interact with vendors when issues arise
  • Provide month-end accruals for AP to the GL team
  • Participate in system updates and improvements
Requirements

What You’ve Done:

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounts receivable and/or accounts payable experience
  • Prior Lead or supervisor experience preferred
  • Ability to work with limited supervision (after sufficient training period) with appropriate regularly planned 1:1 time with Accounting Manager
  • Proficient keyboarding / typing skills, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Must have strong organization skills and meet deadlines
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with Netsuite platform a plus; in addition, experience with a system conversion would also be a plus
